At present the College offers only B.Ed. course (consisting of 4 semesters) approved by NCTE. It is a 2-Years Undergraduate Professional Course for aspiring would-be school teachers. Our present intake capacity is 50 (in an academic session total number of students from 1st & 2nd year is 100). Students from Science & Arts stream can apply for admission. The College offers 8 (eight) Method Subjects to be selected by the students as their pedagogic study (Commerce & its allied subjects as Method Subject / School Subject are still not available here for B.Ed. Course). Students enjoy a wider choice in opting Elective Paper (1 out of 6). The Course features proportionate blending of Theoretical Knowledge, Hands-on Experience and intensive School Internship.
Objectives of Programme :
The 2-year B.Ed. Programme has three broad inter-related curricular areas, namely perspectives in Education (I), Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies (II), and Engagement with the Field (III). All the courses include field-based units of study and projects along with theoretical inputs from an inter disciplinary perspectives. Engagement with the Field is the curricular component that is meant to holistically link all the courses across the programme and it includes special courses for Enhancing Professional Capacities (EPC) of the student-teachers (B.Ed. students). Transaction of the courses takes place through a variety of approaches such as case studies, group presentations, projects and discussions on reflective journals along with observations of children in schools and interactions with the community in multiple socio-cultural environments.
